Many of us girls experience panic and serious dread at the idea of trying to select clothing to fit our unique shapes. Let’s face it, the “one shape fits all” mentality of clothing manufacturers just doesn’t cut it! Regardless of the type of clothes you’re shopping for, you need to take a look at your overall body shape. To do this, stand in front of a full length mirror wearing something that is form fitting or just your bra and panties.
The different types of shapes most commonly seen are:
The Boyish Figure:
As the name indicates, this figure is more straight up and down without a major difference between the waist and the hips.
The Apple:
This body type is commonly associated with people who gain weight in their middle section, thus giving them the round midsection or “apple” type appearance.
The Pear:
People with this body type are typically people who gain their weight on their rear, hips, and thighs. This gives them an overall appearance of a pear.
Curvy:
The curvy figure is often the most difficult to fit for clothing since it is represented by a narrow waist, shapely hips, and a full bust. The classic “hourglass” figure.
Once you have determined your body type, you can start your search with confidence. Select your clothing with care, if you are curvy, purchase clothing that fits your curves and offers the correct bust support for a good profile. If you are pear shaped, you may wish to find clothing that does minimizes your hips and rear. Pants and skirts that are dark in colour and paired with lighter coloured shirts are often a good choice. Purchase the clothes that give you a boost in confidence, and make you feel good about your body, no matter what your shape.
Remember: your choice is no longer limited to the traditional bricks and mortar stores; there is an almost limitless amount of additional choice online. Go ahead and let your fingers do the talking.

It’s certainly an alluring tag for swimwear: “Look 10lbs lighter in 10 seconds!” - but can a swimsuit really make you look slimmer?
The US concept, which launched in the UK in 2004, also claims that a swimsuit will make you feel 10 times younger and 10 times more confident. However, it is easy to claim these things but is it as easy to show that they are true?
I don’t know how they’ve worked these figures out… (We never got to work on equations like that back in maths class…I wish we had!) But the fact remains that the Miraclesuit is here to stay. With the imminent launch of its fourth season, those people who thought this ‘miracle’ was merely a fad have been proved wrong.
The suit is made from a material called Miratex, a fabric containing three times as much Lycra as most fabrics, and boasting three times the hold of ordinary swimwear.
The Miraclesuit, with the help of Miratex, has the power to “contour, shape, slim and firm”. Or so their company claims. And many women seem to agree with them, judging by the popularity of the swimwear.
Mike Eve, director of Patricia Eve, the company that represents Mircalesuit in the UK, thinks there’s a growing demand for quality products and a “backlash against cheap goods.”
Does Miraclesuit swimwear work? Eve puts it, “Its success shows that the Miraclesuit is a product that actually does the job it says it will, and is not just an idle boast.”
Dieting is the sure way to look slimmer but we are all looking for the easy option of an instant miracle fix. We tested the suit and found that it does indeed make a person appear slimmer by ‘readjusting’ the wobbly bits making them look firmer and less obvious and enhancing the parts of a ladies body that look better when they have a bit more shape. Whether this gives a person more confidence is more difficult to measure but it seems an obvious follow on from an improved appearance.

It’s a British invasion, with the popularity of Xloop Sunglasses moving across the pond with their recent UK division opening. So, it’s more of an invasion of Britain. In the USA Xloop is still going strong with its line up of fashionable wholesale sunglasses. Xloop is sunglasses are hip, and windswept, the perfect look for a pair of shades.
A fairly new company, Xloop UK limited was formed in early 2005. Its goal in the marketing world is to bring the fantastic shades and styles of Xloop to Britain and the rest of Europe. Sports glasses at their finest are what Xloop stands for and they are highly affordable ranging from as little as $15.
Xloop offers the largest selections of brand name sunglasses at wholesale prices to date. They don’t just make the glasses but they also make the sunglasses affordable. There are numerous brands of sunglasses available from the company you will be bound to recognize. Think X-loop, DG, Choppers, VG, Biohazard, Locs, and USA Bike, all name brands and high quality sunglasses that are available as wholesale sunglasses prices.
Many small businesses, internet retailers and flea marketers also buy sets of 12 to 30 pairs of sunglasses from Xloop for their own businesses. They mark up the prices slightly to offer them online or offline to the general public.
The Xloop brand glasses come with plastic frames and modern half sized lenses. It’s a look that goes equally well on the road, on vacation or while wandering through a local marketplace. Their wholesale prices mean you can get normally super expensive frames for a very affordable price. For example, a pair of Xloop sunglasses model 2056F cost as little as $7. These shades come in black plastic frames with green iridescent coatings and dark gray lenses to protect your eyes from most light conditions.
If dark isn’t your motif then you can sample one of the many other name brand sunglasses that Xloop offers as they get them in. Xloop even managed to get in a shipment of limit edition OCC Paul Jr. Chopper Sunglasses from the show, American Chopper. These silver metal frames with amber lenses would normally be hundreds of dollars, but Xloop made them available for just $24. You can tell they’re Orange County Choppers by the infamous OCC logo on the temples.
Xloop Sunglasses Company is a great way for sunglasses lovers to get their favorite brands without having to pay full price to experience the luxury. Xloop sells direct to the customer so there is no middleman to mark up the price.
An average pair of xloop sunglasses costs about $20. For that price you are getting high quality shades and wholesale sunglasses at drastically reduced prices.
The company has been extremely successful making most of their sales online through various internet retailers and ebay stores. In 2007 they sold $10,000 case lots of sunglasses to customers just like you. This recent surge in popularity is what prompted the expansion of their company across the pond to open their Xloop UK division responsible for bringing name brand fashions at affordable prices to people across Britain and Europe.
With today’s society edging closer and closer towards the internet and online activity I believe one should follow suit and shop online for your T Shirts and accessories that are not available in Australia for us to buy. With many selective brands such as Peter Werth and Street Code being sold in the UK that are not found and available to buy in Australia. If so, they you usually have to pay a high price, well over the RRP. Online websites that specialise in oversea branded T Shirts are a growing industry that sells these selective brands at a significantly lower price then stores, which import and sell at a high price.
Online stores are in a global market that is tied together in what is known as the web. This is a great advantage as online stores have the potential to sell to the whole world. The rate at which they do this depends entirely on how much they advertise and sell to other countries. In regards to T Shirts being sold in Australia, there is a popular trend at the moment with British fashion labels such as Peter Werth and Street Code. These fashion labels are sold at a high price in stores because they are imported from the UK. With a high demand a low supply of these goods, sellers sell these labels at a very high price. This is where the power of online sales takes over.
By shopping online for T Shirts that aren’t available in Australia means that there will be a potential huge market. Many people have found this gap in the market and have made websites dedicated to selling just T Shirts. By specializing in just T Shirts these online stores buy in bulk to keep up with demand and make sure they have many designs and sizes to cater for the needs of their customers. By buying in bulk direct from the UK the online stores are able to buy them at a much cheaper price, which in turn enables them to sell them much cheaper in comparison to Australian stores. This therefore shows that shopping online has a great advantage over shopping in your local high street for these oversea brands.
Furthermore, these online stores are constantly having special offers on their T Shirts that aren’t available in Australia. For example, one particular website states if you spend over a certain amount you get free postage and packaging. This is another great way to save money, because it will cost you nothing, whereas driving and paying money to park at your local mall.
Form this it is possible to see why it is better to buy T Shirts not available in Australia online on the grounds that it is significantly cheaper, there is a larger variety to choose from and because new stock is constantly being bought, it will be mostly up to date stock that is sold.

Fair trade or ethical jewellery is one of those buzz terms you hear cropping up all over the place these days. London Fashion Week now has a special feature dedicated to ethical fashion design, while Milan has also introduced an ethical show that will feature the latest in fair trade jewellery.
Ethical Fashion describes design and production practices that are governed by a code of conduct covering a range of issues, including working conditions, exploitation, fair trade, sustainable production, the environment, and animal welfare.
Traditionally, these issues were the preserve of the flower power generation. So how did fair trade jewellery enter the mainstream and become fashionable?
- Firstly, greater consumer knowledge has been driving demand for ethically-sourced products. Globalisation has made the world a smaller place, and it’s now much easier to read on the web about how workers are treated in far-off countries and where environmental damage is caused by polluting industries. As awareness has grown, so has demand for ethical jewellery products.
- Fair trade jewellery designers have become more responsive to fashion trends, and in parallel, more professional designers are getting involved in ethical fashion. That has helped raise the quality bar across the ethical jewellery movement, meaning that you can now find jewellery that’s stylish, beautiful, fashionable, design-led…and ethical too. This creates a win-win situation for customers, who get great jewellery that’s also a good deal for the planet and producers.
- Thirdly, rising levels of worry about the environment and our impact on the planet has made being eco-friendly a more mainstream concern, and sparked questions about what we as individuals can do to limit our environmental impact and act more responsibly to help safeguard our environment. This has influenced shopping habits, as consumers think before spending.
- The low costs and disposable nature of much high street fashion means that many thousands of items of clothing and accessories are destined for incinerators or landfill sites. According to Waste Online, the UK alone throws away 1 million tonnes of clothing every year - that’s a lot of waste. The ethical jewellery movement has tapped into the zeitgeist by aiming to produce quality accessories that won’t fall apart after a few months.
- Finally, as fair trade or ethical jewellery brands play a larger role in the market, so the public appetite for this type of conscious consumerism grows, and so the mainstream fashion industry is forced to mend its ways. This virtuous circle of ethical fashion is helping thousands of workers and creating equitable trading relations that span the world.
While fair trade jewellery is now firmly on the fashion radar, it should be stressed that the ethical fashion movement isn’t just a passing fad, and will continue to grow and evolve in the future.

OK guys, how many of you would be brave enough to buy a g-string, and I am not talking about a new string for your guitar, I am talking about thongs, strings and g-strings. Well more and more men are shopping for string underwear for men for a variety of reasons.
Thongs are one of the earliest forms of clothing worn by men. They date back thousands of years and were worn long before women were wearing them. If you ever want to understand why these were the preferred choice of clothing for our ancestral male thong wearers then perhaps we need to look at it from Darwin’s perspective by applying a process of reverse engineering to establish what benefits thongs held for men thousands of years ago.
Looking at it this way it will soon become apparent that practicality more likely than not took precedence over vanity and thongs essentially did what they said they did on the label, they cover and support. When you think about it, what more do you need from an item of male underwear, other than to provide you with adequate and comfortable support for your ‘giggleberries’. What benefit does having a full back to your pants offer and at the end of the day, what does it matter what your underwear looks like when for the vast majority of the time they remain unseen, except by our partners.
So, why did men ever stop wearing thongs on a regular daily basis? Many may speculate that thongs for men as a preferred choice of clothing simply naturally disappeared over time as we became more socially advanced and experimented and developed with other types of clothing. It could also be due to the mergence, adoption and integration of other clothing trends as different cultures came together as humans began to roam and transverse across continents. Eventually, socialization would have become an influential factor and men would have become much vainer and sought clothing that met other needs, such as social identification or a need to make a statement about who they were in society.
However, men now seem to be once again recognising the earlier reasons for string underwear for men, just as our earlier ancestors did and are buying thongs in increasing numbers. They are a popular choice for sports men who simply want practical and functional underwear that does the job and provides the support and control for their ‘giggleberries’ that they require.
